Conservatory Roof Replacement: Tiled Warm Roofs

Turn your conservatory into a room you use all year

Many older conservatories are hard to use, too hot in summer and too cold in winter. Replacing the glass or polycarbonate roof with an insulated tiled warm roof is one of the most effective ways to turn yours into a room you can use all year.

How a warm roof conversion works

We remove the existing roof completely and fit a lightweight, fully insulated Guardian tiled roof. It doesn't need bulky portal frames or brick columns, so it can usually go on your existing frames, subject to a survey. Inside, you get a plastered ceiling, with the option of spotlights.

Avoid 'wrap-around' systems

Some cheaper systems leave the old roof in place and cover it with insulation and cladding. We don't offer these. A full replacement is the right way to do it, and it means the roof can be designed and approved properly.

Do I need permission?

Planning permission isn't usually needed if the change doesn't significantly alter the roof's appearance. However, a new solid roof must meet Building Regulations for structure, insulation and ventilation, and we'll explain what's needed when we survey. See our planning guide.
